A very useful website for information on all aspects of studying abroad is the Global Graduates site. This has information on locations, insurance, accommodation, visas, dealing with homesickness, and much, much more:

Student Finance Travel Grant

Student Finance offers a means-tested travel grant to students studying abroad.  Students must pay the first £303 towards their flights, but dependent on household income SF will reimburse up to 3 return flights during a full study abroad year, as well as reimbursing visa, immunisation and insurance costs.  Full details of the scheme can be found here:
