Research

We are living in a digital age where all of our lives are impacted and challenged by digital technologies and information sciences, from cyber security and AI, to social media, games and visual effects, to digital libraries, archives and records.

This Department’s research addresses and explores this through two distinctive research clusters: Human-Centred Computing and Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies. Each cluster consists of three research groups.

Prospective PhD students: Opportunities to carry out postgraduate research towards an MPhil/PhD or MSc by research exist in all the areas identified above. Information about our current PhD opportunities may be obtained by contacting Dr Nauman Aslam in the department or from The Graduate School

Visiting scholars: We welcome visiting academics - please contact the Head of Department, Prof. Shaun Lawson, in the first instance.
