Planning your day

Want to know what it's like to be a Northumbria student? Attending one of our Open Days can help you experience the city and the university for yourself.

What can you expect on the day?

  • Registration and Check-in can be done at either Sport Central at City Campus or at Coach Lane Campus depending which course/subject you are interested in*
  • Head to your check-in destination where you can sign in and receive your open day pack, including the schedule for the day.
  • Visit our Central Exhibition space to discover more about our range of full-time undergraduate degrees, student finance, the Northumbria community and so much more.
  • Experience your chosen course at one of our subject sessions, where you can meet academic staff and current students.
  • Take a tour of our campus and its facilities. Get a feel for what life is like on campus and where your course of interest will be taught.
  • Ask any questions about courses, student life and the region. Get the answers you need to help decide if Northumbria is right for you.

*Which Campus? - Northumbria University has two campuses in Newcastle - City Campus and Coach Lane Campus. Please make sure you check which Campus the subjects that you are interested in are held at. The majority of our courses are based at City Campus, but if you are interested in any of the following, these are based at our Coach Lane Campus:

  • Childhood and Early Years Studies
  • Education
  • Guidance and Counselling
  • Health and Social Care
  • Midwifery
  • Nursing
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Operating Department Practice
  • Physiotherapy
  • Social Work

Car Parking

City Campus – the main car park is City Campus East – postcode NE1 2SU / what3words: builds.beyond.either

There are also a number of spaces in:

Camden Street – NE2 1XE /  what3words: double.brands.jolly

Day Street – NE1 8SU / what3words: ally.fields.leave

Sport Central – NE1 8QD / what3words: mass.visits.people 

Coach Lane Campus

Coach Lane East Car Park - postcode NE7 7TR (this will guide you to a nearby housing estate, so as you get close please follow the signs to the University) / what3words: fine.truly.healers

During Open Days a free shuttle bus will also run for visitors between City Campus and Coach Lane Campus.

Alternative city centre pay & display car parks include:

  • MEA House – NE1 8SX
  • College Street – NE1 8JG
  • Civic Centre – NE2 1DF
  • Manors – NE1 2LA
