Dr Murad Ali

Assistant Professor

Dr. Murad Ali joined the Newcastle Business School (NBS), Northumbria University as a Senior Lecturer in September 2021. Dr. Ali is teaching modules related to HRM/OB at the NBS. He previously served as Associate Professor at the King Abdulaziz University Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Dr. Ali has extensive experience in teaching, training, academic and business research, and consultancy in Asia and the Middle East.

His main research interest is in the advancement of research methods to further the understanding of HRM, OB, knowledge management and innovation. His approach is quite interdisciplinary and has published several articles in top-tier journals recongnized by acedemic rankings (Financial Times, CABS, CNRS), such as Journal of Business EthicsJournal of Business Research, Industrial Marketing Management, Technovation, Business Strategy and the Environment, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Journal of Knowledge Management, Corporate Social Responsibility & Environmental Management, Journal of Cleaner Production, Business Process Management Journal, Baltic Journal of Management, Journal of East-West Business, Journal of Innovation and Knowledge, Sustainability, and International Entrepreneurship and Management Journal, among others. He has been an editorial board member of Journal of Business Research and an associate editor of Asia-Pacific Journal of Business Administration.

He is principal investigator and co-investigator in various funded research projects. He is a member of the Academy of Management, the British Academy of Management, the Society for Human Resource Management, and Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. Dr. Ali believes in conducting innovative and evidence-based research for the benefit of the society, scholarly, and practice communities.
