Why did you decide to study Fashion Communication at Northumbria?

I knew I wanted to work in fashion but I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. I thought the Fashion Communication programme at Northumbria was the right course for me, as it covers many aspects and fields of the industry.

What are the most useful skills that Fashion Communication taught you?

The most important skill that Fashion Communication taught me is to be confident about myself and my work.

Did you get any work experience / internships while studying?

I didn’t complete any internships while studying, however my work experience as a sales assistant at End Clothing helped my brand knowledge and fashion skills.

What is the one piece of advice you would give this year’s graduates?

Intern, intern, intern, no matter what you want to do, or where you want to work. Just because you are getting a degree it doesn’t mean you are ready for the industry. There is always something to learn.

Describe Fashion Communication in three words:

Experimental, creative, inspiring
