I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the law during my degree and I knew that this was the field which I wanted to work in. I wanted a job which would provide me with challenges on a day to day basis and this is why I choose to apply for a training contract.

What are you doing now?

I am currently working in the Medical Negligence and Serious Injury Department and I am currently in my second seat as a trainee.Emma Armstrong

What was it about Northumbria that made you decide to study here?

I heard great reviews about the Law School and I knew that there was a high standard of teaching. The facilities are great and assisted with my learning.

What was it like studying at Northumbria?

There was a mix of lectures and seminars. The seminars enabled me to work through questions and apply the knowledge which I learned in the lectures.

What was the best thing about your course?

I enjoyed the practical nature of the course.

Which skills/ knowledge did you learn on your course that you use most now throughout your career?

The LPC is a skills based course and it teaches you skills such as interviewing, advocacy and negotiation.

What did you enjoy most about your time at Northumbria University?

Meeting new people and learning skills which were useful for my career.

What advice would you give somebody who is considering studying at Northumbria?

Northumbria is a great place to study, the teaching is brilliant and you will certainly enjoy your time spent at the university.

How would you describe your time at Northumbria in three words?

Fun, useful and practical.
