Dr Linda Allin

Associate Professor

Department: Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation

Linda Allin is Associate Professor in Sport Development, in the Department of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation.  Her main teaching area is in community sport development and her main research interests lie in the value of sport, physical activity and the outdoors for women and other disadvantaged groups. Her PhD in 2003 explored women's career identities in outdoor education and she has a number of publications relating to women's experiences in the outdoor industry. Linda has over 20 years experience in Higher Education and in addition to subject research she has a passion and commitment to the ongoing enhancement of teaching and learning. As current Director of Employability in the Department, she strives to ensure that student preparation for the world after university is underpinned by relevant and up to date knowledge and scholarship.
